Relief for displaced people in Lebanon!
Doação protegida
My name is Philippe Haddad. I'm from Toronto, living in Montreal, but my family is from Lebanon, a beautiful country that's gone through more than most over the last five years.
Over the last few weeks, the Israeli bombardment and invasion of southern Lebanon has displaced upwards of a hundred thousand people with little show of stopping anytime soon. Thousands of families have been forced to evacuate their homes or have had them blasted to rubble, leaving them with few options for safe or adequate housing as they flee to the north towards safety.
I started this crowdfunding campaign to help channel your donations towards several people in Beirut (Karim Gemayel as the main contact) who are currently buying sleeping supplies for the displaced. This includes mattresses, blankets, and pillows from FAP Mattresses and Bedding for the moment, though future funds may go towards medical supplies or other resources as we move towards the winter and the seasons change.
These necessary supplies are not cheap, however, and we need help raising the funds to get there. A payment of $4,750 USD (approx. $6,500 CAD) can supply 250 mattresses, fleece blankets, and pillows, but requires a lot of coordination.
All money collected will be sent to Lebanon to pay for such supplies. Every little bit counts and would be highly appreciated.
