Reed's cancer kicking fund
Donation protected

The Stones consist of Donald, Lindsay, and their kids, Grayson (5) and Callum (1). However, one could argue that the Stone family began way before Don and Lindsay got married, it began with a special four legged vizsla, Reed.
Reed, (Pictured bottom left) practically picked Don and Lindsay to be his forever family. Reed has been part of their lives for a long time. He has witnessed new homes, new career paths, new babies, but most importantly he has been present unconditionally for the best and worst moments.
Recently, Lindsay, who worked at a veterinary clinic before nursing school, noticed lumps on Reed's legs. To the average person, this wouldn't be cause for concern but Lindsay realized those lumps were around Reed's lymph nodes. Immediately, they made a vet appointment and got tests done. Unfortunately, the labs confirmed their fear and came back positive for Lymphatic Cancer.
Thanks to their rapid response, Reed is already being treated by Dr. Calo with AVIM and his primary care doctor, Dr. Repsher.
Treatment is a multi agent protocol (Madison Wisconsin Chemotherapy Protocol) which is a multi drug rotational chemotherapy that lasts 25 weeks. The treatments are weekly for four weeks, off one week, repeat with the goal of remission. The vets said that dogs tolerate chemo well with 75% having no side effects, 25% having mild side effects (decreased appetite, N/V/D, blood in stool or urine, decreased cell count but body self corrects counts), and less than 1% having severe side effects.
The average survival time post diagnosis without treatment is 4 weeks. However, dogs that feel well tend to do better. Lucky for us, not only was Reed feeling well when he started treatment, but Dr. Calo said that Reed is an ideal candidate for this treatment. The treatment at these stages and without pet insurance is quite expensive.
The Stones are the best family a dog could ask for…
Lindsay Stone (Loftus,) is the sweetest person you will ever meet. Lindsay is always the person caring for everyone else, friends, family, strangers, even abandoned baby squirrels. As I mentioned, she used to work in a vet clinic and went to nursing school to become an Emergency Room Nurse. She now works with Epic, and trains new nurses and doctors how to document properly and avoid catastrophes in their hospitals. Donald Stone is an electrician. Don is always there when you need him, especially when it comes to helping out his friends, and family with the craziest jobs. Jobs like preventing my house from burning down a month ago. As you know, The Stones have two young children, Grayson and Callum. If you know this family you know their dogs are basically their other children. Reed and Ruby are more than their dogs. They are their kids' partners in crime and their best friends.
I know the Stones are too humble and will never ask for any help from anyone so I am doing it for them. Please donate to Reed's cancer fund. It would help keep this family of 6 together and mean the world to all of us!
