Reconstruction of our family home after hurricane

Dear Family and Friends

On May 30th 2022, Hurricane Agatha ravaged the coast of Oaxaca for 7 hours and damaged our family home. The winds were very strong and came along with heavy rain which flooded all our small houses made of brick, wood, bamboo and palmroof. The small orchard we had been caring for for 15 years got flooded and many of the fruits trees died. The massive trees called Huanacaxtle all fell and are blocking our pathways. Currently we have to climb over the fallen trunks in order to get to our house. Greenhouse, Henhouse, Storage room and Bee House got destroyed completely and are beyond repair. All our roofs are leaking, and it is the start of the rainy season, although we put tarp on every roof, with every rain, the water just comes flooding in. The mosquito nets which covered our houses are shredded from the hurricane and left us unprotected. We lost most of our books and children toys like the swing and trampoline.

We are facing a difficult situation. Without income and help from the government it makes it hard to rebuild our home. Thats why we reach out to the world, every penny makes a difference to us.
