Help Leela Rebuild Her Life After Fire and Flood

My name is Leela Ruby and I am a musician and artist originally from Edmonton, Alberta.

I had a crazy year--I lost my job, I lost my two year relationship, so in May 2024 I decided to move to Jasper, Alberta. Everything seemed to be going fine until that literally burned down as well.

I was living at Upper Staff housing in Pyramid Lake Lodge. The building did not burn, and I thought, wow, what a moment of relief.

All of my musical instruments, fun and creative outfits, paintings and general belongings I brought to Jasper when I uprooted my life are safe...

I shouldn't have held my breath. I found out on September 4th the basement suite I was living in flooded severely and the majority of my items were destroyed and covered in mold.

I don't have insurance of course. I don't have anything really. I barely got to look at my items before they were courted off into a dumpster before my eyes.

Lately it feels like life is a cosmic joke, that I'm some kind of silly creature that gets tricks played on me. I try to have a positive outlook while I pick up the pieces, but

man, this sucks!!!!!

If you can spare a couple dollars or share this so I can attempt to rebuild my life, I would really appreciate it. I do need help. I am struggling. This is a heavy blow

Funds will be used to replace my microphones, vocal pedal, guitar, amp, cables, all my clothing, all my keepsakes.

Funds will also be used to secure housing after Oct 14th when my current work contract ends.
