Randy Wieden
On June 21st Randy fell about 15 to 20 feet to the ground when the ladder gave way while trimming some tree branches that had been broken in a storm. He was air lifted to North Memorial Health Hospital in Robbinsdale from his home in Elk River. He sustained injuries to the thoracic region of his spine and lost the sensation in his legs. After X-rays and an MRI they found that he had dislocation fractures of the T8-T10 vertebrae and a compression fracture to the T11 vertebrae.
Today Randy had surgery to input two rods and ten screws. Surgery went well and he has regained sensation in his legs, which we are very thankful for since T10 vertebrae injuries can often cause paralysis. He is currently bed bound in the ICU but is in good spirits. Unfortunately due to COVID he is not allowed any visitors during the entirety of his visit.
Randy’s medical bills are expected to be substantial even after insurance is applied. Donations made to Randy and his family on this page will aid in paying for the air lift to the hospital, ambulance ride to the helicopter, surgery, hospital stay, and physical therapy. Randy will be out of work for 3-4 months so your donations will lift a huge weight off the family’s shoulders and allow them to focus on recovery.
