Hello there! My name is Amanda Wolfe and I am a close friend to Lindsay, Erin and their children. I’ve known the Revenew sisters for a little over 10 years and am hoping that by sharing their story, you may want to contribute to the restoration and/or purchasing of items that have been damaged or destroyed.
On Monday evening, May 8th, the apartment below Lindsay Revenew’s caught fire due to unknown causes in Lawrence, KS. The fire left both Erin (who lived across the hall) and Lindsay’s apartment inhabitable. Luckily, Lindsay and her 2 children were not home at the time of the fire, but Erin and her daughter were. Since it was too dangerous to evacuate down the stairs and out the door, Erin and her daughter were forced to leap from the 2-story apartment. There are not enough words to express the gratitude towards the individuals that helped break Erin and her daughter’s fall, and although Erin’s feet and ankles suffered some injuries, everyone managed to get out of the building safely (even the cats and hamster).
These two single mothers are some of the strongest women I know. They have never failed to be a support system in a time of need, and this is a great way to show that they too are supported. At this time, the Revenew families are staying with friends and family, but are looking for new places to live.
