As many know, Katie Sime is the heart of her family and a constant presence in our community. Whether she is cheering on the sidelines for Eastside, freezing in the rinks for Bulldogs and Muskies, teaching/coaching at Liggett, or playing goalie for the GP Chill, she is the ultimate teammate and champion for her four children - Brendan, Kyle, Jocelyn, & Cameron - and her husband, Mike.
Now, it’s our turn to be there for her.
This week, Katie was hospitalized and received the devastating news of a tumor in her brain. She is currently preparing for major surgery to remove the tumor, which will be followed by a biopsy to determine the next course of treatment.
Katie will be out of work for an undetermined amount of time while she recovers from surgery and undergoes whatever treatment lies ahead. In addition to the emotional toll, her family is now facing significant financial stress.
With four active kids and a household to run, the last thing we want them to worry about is money. We are raising funds to help cover lost wages, medical expenses, and the day-to-day costs of keeping a family of six running so Mike can focus on Katie and the kids.
Katie is always the first to volunteer and the loudest cheerleader for everyone else. Please consider donating to help take the financial weight off their shoulders during this fight.
Thank you for your love, prayers, and support.
