Raising funds for Rylie!

Hello! My name is Andreya and I am raising funds for Rylie’s unexpected vet bills and surgeries for my friends Liz and Jordan.

Liz & Jordan have been experiencing a difficult set of circumstances since the beginning of June. Liz became critically ill leading to having to be airlifted from Kamloops to Victoria General Hospital to deliver their baby early at 30 weeks. Baby Sawyer will be in the NICU until he is old enough and stable enough to go home.

While this was happening and Liz & Jordan were in Victoria for medical care, their beloved dogs were being watched back home. During this time, their mini Aussie Rylie suffered serious injuries to her left hind leg. She had a gaping hole that had been pulled away from the muscle and lots of dead, necrotic tissue on top of an infection. Rylie was brought to the emergency vet where the injury was repaired and sutured. The damage to her leg was extensive and the infection had resulted in dead tissue that included some areas of the muscle. A drain was installed to help drain out infection. However, the vet stressed that because the tissue in the area was so damaged, the sutures could come undone. A few days later, this happened around the drain and she had to be seen again for surgery to have the sutures repaired. At this appointment, the vet found the infection was not getting better and prescribed a stronger antibiotic. After starting this antibiotic, Rylie had an allergic reaction resulting in hives on her body. She had to be seen again to receive a different antibiotic. A few days after that, her sutures opened a second time resulting in another surgery to repair the area. She is still healing and on an antibiotic, pain medication and Benadryl to manage the allergic reaction.

All of these unexpected trips to the vet have cost Liz & Jordan thousands of dollars on top of the expenses of being away from home for almost a month in order for Liz and baby Sawyer to receive the medical care they needed in Victoria. Both Liz & Jordan have lost significant income as a result of these circumstances and not being able to work in order to take care of Liz and Sawyer.
