Raising Fund to Build a Gurudwara Sahib in Sarnia
**Help Build a New Gurudwara Sahib in Sarnia, ON**
My name is Rajpal Singh Kalsi, and I have been proudly serving the Sikh community in Sarnia, ON for over 40 years. I am a retired pharmacist, an active flight instructor, and currently the president of the Sarnia Sikh Society, which operates our local Gurudwara Sahib.
Our Gurudwara, which has been located in a residential space for the past 38 years, was originally established when only a handful of families lived in Sarnia—around 4-5 families. Today, however, our vibrant community has grown to over 50 families and more than 600 students. As the population continues to expand, we find ourselves facing increasing challenges in providing space and services for our growing sangat.
Before the COVID-19 pandemic, our Gurudwara was open only on Sundays, serving a small group of families. However, during the pandemic, we saw an outpouring of need from students and community members seeking support, prayer, and food services. As a result, we made the decision to offer daily services, including prayer and langar (community meals), to meet the needs of our community. But, due to our limited space in the current building, we are struggling to accommodate everyone who needs support.
We are now reaching out to Sikhs worldwide to help us raise funds for a new, larger Gurudwara Sahib—one that will allow us to serve our community and humanity more effectively. With your support, we aim to build a facility that can accommodate the needs of all our community members, provide better services, and be a place of spiritual growth, seva (selfless service), and unity.
We humbly request your donations to help us make this vision a reality. Your generosity will directly impact the lives of countless individuals, students, families, and future generations in our community.
Thank you for your support and for being part of this noble cause.
**Sincerely,**
Rajpal Singh Kalsi
