$2620 Before 26.2- Dystonia Research
Tax deductible
Want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money for Dystonia Medical Research Foundation, and any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me. I am trying to donate the money to the DMRF before the Boston Marathon (4/15/19) and represent the DMRF charity at the Marathon as well.
More information about Dystonia Medical Research Foundation: Dystonia is a debilitating movement disorder that prevents the brain and nervous system from functioning properly. Dystonia causes muscles in the body to contract or spasm involuntarily. The mission of the DMRF is to advance research for more treatments and ultimately a cure, to promote awareness and education, and to support the well being of affected individuals and families.
This is especially important to me because my sister Abby and I have both been diagnosed with Myoclonus Dystonia and our cases aren't nearly as severe as some of the cases we have seen at the Dystonia Symposium. We know how blessed we are to have more mild forms of Dystonia.
As a runner, I always ran just for a PR but now I want to also run to help those who can't and who won't fulfill their dreams in life as I live out one of mine this Spring.
At the Chicago Dystonia Symposium- With Billy McLaughin (Musician, Guitarist, who has Focal Dystonia in his hand and retrained himself to play a new" left-handed hammerstyle")
