Rachel and Harlow's Fresh Start

Hello, my name is Rachel and this is Harlow, my little one. Harlow just turned 1 in June!

During the first year of his life, I was a stay-at-home mother. My partner and I couldn’t make our relationship work through the first year of postpartum, unfortunately. During navigating this new transition, Harlow and I had to move to a place of our own. I was able to receive a small sum to start our lives over from the ground up. Recently, Harlow has been visiting his father on the weekends but has only stayed 1 night. I’ve been trying desperately to help this 70/30 split succeed but unfortunately, things don’t always go as planned.

Harlow starts childcare at an incredible school on July 29th and my first day of work back is August 1st. I am also a full-time student in my local health science program/intro to radiology. As I do not have any family that is able to help watch Harlow until childcare begins, I have had no luck being able to go back to work sooner rather than later.

These times are uncertain and I know that everything will work itself out with hard work and persistence. Right now, it’s just him and I for the most part.

I am setting this up in hopes to feel a bit of relief until my 40-hour work week starts. There are so many new beginnings and exciting times ahead. I am incredibly embarrassed to ask for help but I know that sometimes it’s needed and to set your pride aside. I am a hard-working first-time mom and I have come so far on my own creating a life for my little one and I.
