Race Around Iceland for Katie

SUPPORT KATIE HUGHES
My name is Declan Brassil and on June 26th 2018 I will begin the 'WOW' Cyclothon Around Iceland, a 1,400 km solo race that must be completed within 72 hours.
In competing in this race I hope to raise money for two year old Katie Hughes.
Katie Hughes is from Co. Monaghan. She is the beloved only child of Padraig and Gráinne Hughes.
On the 29th May 2018 Katie was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL).
Immediately Katie began treatment in Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin. She will continue to undergo chemotherapy and steroid treatment in Dublin for another six months. Following that it is expected that she will undergo maintenance treatment for a further twelve to eighteen months.
Katie is a fun-loving, happy, energetic and brave little girl. Needless to say her diagnosis has shattered Padraig and Gráinne’s lives.
Katie is being treated in the St. John's Ward in Crumlin and money raised during this campaign will be very generously donated by Padraig and Gráinne to this great facility so that Katie and other children in her situation can continue to receive the treatment they require.
Like myself, Katie’s dad Padraig is a keen cyclist. He is a long-time and much-loved member of Emyvale Cycling Club.
When I heard their story I was delighted to be able to lend my support to this very worthy cause and I urge you to donate what you can to help to support Katie, Padraig and Gráinne in the difficult months ahead.
Thanks so much for your support!
