My wife's younger brother (my brother-in-law), Tung Chuong, has been battling liver cancer for the past 4 years. He hasn't been able to work due to his medical condition, so his wife, Nancy Xuan Nguyen, is the sole bread winner for the two of them.
His condition has severely worsen, and Tung has been in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in Sacramento, CA since Friday, 10/26/2018 (10+ days as of this writing). He can't breathe on his own and has been on life support since Saturday, 10/27/2018, awaiting a life-saving liver transplant in San Francisco, CA.
Per the doctors and the diminishing time left, there is a very small window of opportunity where Tung is stable enough to be transported from Sacramento, CA to San Francisco, CA for the liver transplant surgery.
Today, Monday 11/5/2018, the doctor advised all family members to come see Tung right away because time is getting more limited and they will try to transport him to UCSF Hospital in San Francisco, CA as soon as today because he's now on 100% oxygen/life support. Although Tung will be transported to UCSF Hospital in San Francisco, CA, he will still be on the Wait List and may not receive the liver transplant surgery until weeks later.
With a single income for the past 4+ years and Nancy (Tung's wife) not being able to go to work in Sacramento, CA in order to stay by her husband's side in San Francisco, CA during the waiting period, recovery period, and monitoring period after the liver transplant surgery, the additional expenses incurred for Tung's liver transplant surgery will create a substantial financial hardship, more than it already has within the last 4+ years.
Our families have always--and will continue to always--come together and support each other through trying times.
From our family to yours, we ask that if you can forego one night of dining out this week and donate to Tung and Nancy in the similar amount of the cost of a family dinner meal ($50-$100, or more) to help Tung and Nancy get pass this life-saving liver transplant surgery, with one less thing to worry about: how to pay for their living expenses when Nancy cannot work to earn on a single-income household.
Thank you in advance for reading this far. Your prayers and generous donation is immensely and sincerely appreciated. May God bless Tung and Nancy during these trying times, and may God also bless you and your family for helping them see this through with your contribution.
