Security and Moving Costs

Hi! As some of you know, Brandon and I are leaving Florida to head back to my home state.
With Florida ramping up it’s racist and transphobic policies, putting book bans into action in schools, and just being generally horrible, we decided not only do we not want to live here, but we don’t want Isaac to start school here.
Since Brandon is Guyanese, making our child multiracial and Jewish, the racists and xenophobes that have been emboldened by DeSantis have really come out of the woodwork. Even in blue counties such as the one we live in.
I also require knee surgery ASAP. That’s something that will be covered by my insurance in NY but it does need to happen sooner rather than later.
Anyway! This is for making sure we have a security deposit ready and moving costs. We have already put out 30 days in here, so we will be moving, we just want to make sure we can get a place secured and get out of here. If needed, trades for tattoos can be made, commissions, blood pacts, etc. We aren’t worried about paying for rent, but as most of you know, the majority of millennial families don’t have the luxury of having any “cushion” for security deposits, especially while we pay for the last month of rent for our place in Florida.
It would be wonderful if this was one less thing we had to think about. Anything helps, truly.

- UPDATE: We have secured a place in Troy, but we need $2600 as a deposit ASAP, so we can insure it’s ours for sure. Thank you for everyone who has donated either here or through other avenues.
