My name is Anthony Auger and I am proud to be the son of the most caring, giving, supportive and loving parents of all time, Jim and Donna Auger. My parents have been, and still are, the two most influential people in my life and have helped mold me into the man that I am today. I can not even begin to imagine life without either of these two amazing people.
My mom has had some serious health issues within the last 10 years. She has been incredibly strong throughout all of the struggles and continues to fight day in and day out to fight off whatever ails her. A few years ago she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She went throught the traditional treatments of chemo therapy and radiation, but the doctors insisted on a double masectomy as well. These treatments put her body through hell. She fought through it all and come out on top with her spirits intact. After a few months of treatments the doctors said that her cancer was now in remission and that she would continue to live a long and healthy life.
Recently she has had a lot of pain in her bones and went back to the doctor to get some tests run to see what was causing this pain. The doctors did a bone scan only to find out that the cancer has spread throughout her entire body and into her bones. The diagnosis: Bone Cancer. The doctors told her that they wanted to go back to the original radiation treatments to try to slow down the spread of the cancer. They also said that they cannot do chemo therapy treatments because her body was too weak from the previous treatments. They did not give her a time table of how long they think she would live but they also did not sound hopeful that the radiation treatments would work at all. Instead they just prescribed her morphine and opiates to help alleviate some of the pain. I dont know if you have ever lived with someone on morphine but it is not LIVING at all.
My dad and I, along with my brother Chris and sister Danae, decided that we would forgo the radiation treatments and try a more natural approach to healing. The doctors are not hopeful of the radiation treatments so why not try an alternative method. Through our extensive research we have found many success stories using natural healing methods. The idea behind these "protocols" is to slow down the spread of cancer by using the bodies natural defense system, the immune system. The immune system is powerful enough to fight cancer on its own as long as the body is healthy enough to focus its energy on fighting. These natural protocols, while successful, are very very labor intensive. It requires someone to make fresh juice every hour, on the hour. It requires an enormous amount of natural supplements given at precise times throughout the day. The attention to focus and detial is incredibly important in order to get the body back to where it should be so it can naturally slow down and eventually stop the spread of cancer. While the medical community doesnt generally support these methods of treating cancer, we are hopeful that my mom is strong enough to battle it out.
The purpose of this crowd funding campaign is to help out my mom in any way we can. We would like to hire someone to be at our home to help with multitude of tasks it requires to stay on these strictly regimented diets and protocols. My dad is the hardest working and most patient man I have ever met but he needs help. I would like to raise $15,000 to hire professional hospice care to alleviate some of the stress and work that my dad has to deal with on a day to day basis. The money will also be used to purchase these natural supplements along with ingredients to make fresh juices every day for the next 9-12 months. The list of supplements needed for this is mind blowing. Battling cancer this way takes hard work and dedication. My mom will be on these diets for the rest of her life and my dad needs help in making sure she will follow the plan laid out for her.
I'm asking you to donate whatever money you feel comfortable with to help save my moms life. I have met a lot of people over my 30 year span of life and I havent asked many of them for much. Today I am asking you to donate as much or as little as you can to help our mother continue to live and long and happy life.
