Jennine has been fighting for her home and her neighborhood for years, as an activist with Detroit Eviction Defense, the president of the Field Street Block Club, and Vice President of the Charlevoix Village Association.
Now she is back at the fight, raising funds to get her home removed from the foreclosure list after being turned away for assistance and a more affordable payment plan. As a hard-working single mother at risk of losing her home, Jennine is asking for your support.
Jennine's family has been on Field Street since 1960, and her home is right next door to the house she grew up in, where she currently supports her mother. Jennine grew up with close relationships to the elders on the block, passionate about lending a helping hand and learning from them. She has taken on a leadership role as a matriarch on Field Street, organizing community projects and cleanups, getting information about opportunities out to her neighbors, and making herself available to support them in whatever way she can.
Field Street is not only her home, it's her family.
