Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out to ask for your support in funding an important trip where I’ll be working directly with Yezidi Emergency Support, (www.yezidiemergencysupport.org), a nonprofit dedicated to providing aid, resources, and hope to the Yezidi community, who have endured unimaginable hardship.
The Yezidi people, an ancient monotheistic community, have endured 74 genocides throughout history due to religious persecution. Their population has dwindled from millions to around 800,000 worldwide.
In 2014, ISIS attacked their homeland on Sinjar mountain, Iraq, massacring thousands and capturing 7,000 Yezidis, mostly women and children, to be sold into slavery. A decade later, 2,700 remain captive or missing.
Approximately 200,000 survivors fled to Kurdistan, where they still live in tented camps or surrounding areas. Thousands have returned to Sinjar Iraq, but with minimal infrastructure, employment, healthcare, or education, they live in unfinished buildings or tents, facing harsh weather conditions. Aid rarely reaches them due to corruption, blockades, or misallocation.
The Yezidi community desperately needs help. Survivors of sexual slavery often return with no family, widows struggle to survive after their husbands were murdered, and orphans need more support.
Please donate generously to this peaceful, ancient community that has never harmed anyone but is struggling to survive. Many still live in dire conditions with limited access to basic needs, education, and mental health support. Yezidi Emergency Support is on the ground making a real difference.
Your generous donations will help cover the costs of:
Supplies and aid such as food, clothes, goats, chickens and also give money to those who really need it
On-the-ground volunteer efforts and humanitarian initiatives
Every contribution, big or small, brings us closer to making an impact. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this campaign with your friends and family would mean the world to me.
Thank you for believing in this cause and for any support you can give!
