Preemie baby Rodgers needs your help
My brother is an active duty American Airman based in Minot, ND. He married his high school sweetheart in 2017, and since that time it has been their dream to have a baby. Mason and Marissa are two of the kindest, most genuine people you will ever meet. Both native Texans, they came to North Dakota with no family or network of any kind. Since then, they have become active in their community and in their spare time you will always find them doing something to help a fellow airman or military wife struggling in some way. They don't have much, but would give you the shirt off their backs no questions asked. Ask anyone. They are pet lovers, and have had cats, dogs, fish, and even reptiles- anyone who needs a home. All of these are treated as their "fur-babies" but still they have hoped and tried for a baby of their own for many years.
Those close to Mason and Marissa know that their journey towards parenthood has been paved with devastation and unspeakable tragedy. There is nothing that can prepare you for a still birth. Or another still birth. Or the loss of your mother, father, and closest uncle during the same time. That is what my sister in law and brother have had to stomach in the last 3 years. Through it all, they remain hopeful, grateful, and devoted to each other.
Now we are here. Our miracle baby Xavier Glen born 8/26/2021 at 2:36pm at 1lb 1oz. He fights for every breath and every moment, while Mom and Dad stare helplessly through the incubator.
Due to medical reasons, they are fighting this new battle on a single income. Their friends and family are asking our networks across the country to come together and support this deserving family in any way you can. This will help pay for gas driving to and from the hospital, household bills and living expenses, medical supplies (postpartum c section), meals, and any unforeseen needs for baby.
They embark down this path together, with a long road ahead. Thank you for helping us share some of their story.
