Help Praddy stay in the US by paying for school

Hi, I am Praddy, a gay immigrant of color, and I need to raise funds to afford college tuition to switch to a student visa before my work visa expires.

 

I have been living and working in DC for six years on the H1-B visa and discovered that my previous employer had decided two years ago not to pursue further paperwork for my legal stay in the US. They did not inform me of their decision. I switched jobs, and while my current employer is supporting my stay, the lawyers messed up critical paperwork, and time is running out. The safest route for me now is to go back to school so that I may continue to live in the US as a student.

 

I have been accepted into the Masters in Project Management program at Harrisburg University. This program relates to my architecture profession, especially during the stages of construction. This program would also allow me to keep my current job. I will be able to keep my home and care for my cat, who has anxiety from being returned to the shelter too many times. 

The tuition for this program is $5,300 per semester, totaling over $30,000 for 6 semesters. Additionally I've had to make last minute travel plans to fly to India to get a student visa. I have consulted attorneys and paid a slew of fees and expenses. My parents had to mortgage their home in India to support my studies at Carnegie Mellon University. It would not be possible for them to do it again. Returning to India would negatively affect my job and mental health.

 

I have been an honest and law-abiding resident for six years and actively helped out in my community. I have done everything necessaary for my stay yet have been let down by those in power. I arrived with $300 in my pocket and have built my life here. As you are able, any amount you can contribute would help me immensely.
