Powderhornpark music project free music lessons ~

The fundraiser is for our free guitar lessons/classes project - Powderhorn park music project (PPMP).

We offer free guitar lessons at Walker UMC church on Saturdays 1030am - 1 pm.

All are welcome - kids, young adults and adults in all stages of learning guitar. So far, we mostly have kids from Latinx and BIPOC families

that live in Powderhorn Park and surrounding neighborhoods. We all are trained musicians who feel it is essential to share our knowledge and contribute to our communities.

With these funds, PPMP will:

Provide guitar instruction for another 16 weeks ~ $1250 per semester

Invite guest teachers, and collaborate with other non-profits to ensure students' exposure to Latinx music, diversity and inclusion (Border Crossing, She rock, etc.).

Invite musicians-improvisers to offer improvised music workshops and organize collaboratory performances (local improvisers with students) ~ $1500

Organize concerts and workshops for students and community members to attend! ~ $1000
