Poppy & the Pit Ponies

Hi, we are Noomi and Levi, 10 year old twins from Cornwall. Our mum Lamorna has helped us set up this page to raise money for a community project that has become a huge part of our lives. We started work with Poppy & the Pit Ponies in the Autumn as part of Poppy's 'Foals with Futures' project. Poppy took on 3 foals from the Dartmoor drift; Ari, Bodhi and Mouse (we named him Mouse because he was so tiny) and we got to work raising them as part of a little community team. This involves feeding them, doing chores around their stable and bonding with them to get them used to human contact. Poppy has been teaching us about pony care and management, she is such a lovely person and is so generous with her time. We love the ponies and feel very lucky to be part of this project.

We have talked to Poppy about how much money it takes to run this project, not just for things like food and bedding but also vets insurance, vets bills, public liability insurance and medication. South West Water generously funded the start up of Foals with Futures but now that has come to an end and we have been thinking of lots of ways that we can help to raise funds. We know that there are many generous people who like to offer their support so we set up this page as a way for you to do so. Thank you so much Levi & Noomi xx
