Pony Visits for Poorly Children: Help Us Cover the Costs

Hi, I'm Lucia, and I share my life with two miniature Shetland ponies, Mungo and Reuben. Mungo is the cheeky one and Reuben is the calm one, and together they make a very good team. Alongside our paid work, we visit hospitals as volunteers, bringing a little calm and a few smiles to people who are going through a difficult time.
Yesterday we visited the children's ward at Kettering General Hospital, and we had a lovely time. These visits are completely voluntary and unpaid. I'm happy to give my time, but every visit costs money, and at the moment it all comes out of my own pocket. Taking ponies into a hospital means keeping everything spotlessly clean and safe, and that adds up. We always take two ponies and two handlers, so a helper comes with me, and they need to be paid for their time. Your donations would go towards:
- fuel to get to and from the hospitals
- a helper, so both ponies are always safely handled
- tail bags
- vet wrap for their hooves
- hand sanitiser
- brushes, grooming sprays and shampoos
- clipping, so the ponies are comfortable and clean for hospital visits
- rugs
- wear and tear on tack and equipment
As a rough guide, £100 covers one hospital visit. I would love to take Mungo and Reuben into more hospitals, and these costs are what holds me back. Any donation, large or small, goes directly towards keeping our visits safe, clean and possible, so we can say yes to more wards.
Thank you so much for helping us bring a little pony magic to the people who need it most.
