The family has endured a heartbreaking journey of evacuation, moving from Gaza City to Nussairat Camp, then to Rafah, and back to the middle of Gaza amidst the chaos and danger.

Mahmoud was a civil defense paramedic and a photo journalist. After his family evacuated to the middle of Gaza, Mahmoud refused to leave Gaza to perform his duty and save peoples lives. Tragically, Mahmoud lost his life due to an Israeli missile attack. He witnessed unspeakable atrocities, including the senseless killing of innocent children and civilians. He bravely documented the horrors he saw, including a poignant moment with a child named Alma, pleading for help to rescue her trapped brother under the rubble. Mahmoud's family, aspirations and dreams were all ended in an instant.

The family's house was bombed in January and since then they have no safe place to shelter. They saved penny by penny to build their dream home. They built it with their tears, blood and sweat, yet it was snatched from them in an instant. Now all there is is rubble and memories destroyed by the regime.

On one side, his mother has been battling breast cancer for years, and recently it has returned aggressively. Now she is in dire need of a biopsy for the tumor, but there have been no oncologists or equipment available to perform the procedure for the last nine months. She needs to travel abroad quickly to begin her medical journey. In addition, his father is grappling with chronic illnesses. Now, they face immense challenges without Mahmoud's presence and support.

Along with the fact that the two little kids Zahra and Ameer are left without their beloved uncle to share moments of joy and laughter. The princess Zahra told her grandmother: "I miss my uncle a lot and I want to go to him as he is in heaven now."
