My name is Melissa. I'm Rene's daughter. My dad will be the beneficiary of this fund.

For those who know my dad, he's spent the greater part of his life in service, always offering a helping hand to anyone in need. He's now very much in need of the kindness and generosity he has consistently extended.

In August of 2024, he suffered an acute stroke. He has also been living with Parkinson's Disease for about 9 years. The PD has made recovery from the severe stroke all the more complicated.

He has been in and out of the hospital since that time, enduring multiple complications related to both conditions, including aspiration pneumonia. It's been deeply heartbreaking to witness the changes over the last few months and to see his immense suffering continue.

While various conditions remain treatable, as you can imagine, the cost has been significant. Existing resources have been depleted in the process. We have been doing all that we can to ensure that dad receives the best possible care, and is as comfortable as possible during this extraordinarily challenging time. Unfortunately, it's very difficult to continue without a bit of help.

We'd therefore be grateful for any assistance at all that you might be able to offer. Every bit counts to be able to alleviate dad's suffering to the greatest extent possible, and to provide the kind of care that he so urgently needs.
