Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted individuals,

We are reaching out to ask for your support for Michael Morton, a devoted husband to Natalie, father to Sophia, and friend to all, who is currently in a fight for his life after a sudden and severe illness - Bacterial Meningitis.

Over the past 4 months, this family has been hit with tremendous loss and devastating sickness. Natalie's father was diagnosed with prostate cancer in August and then in September, pancreatic cancer. While the family began adjusting their lives to help with treatments, Natalie lost her mother suddenly in October. As this family began readjusting to their new normal and prepared to move her father into their home, the morning of November 11th changed everything yet again.

For several weeks leading up to this, Michael had been dealing with what seemed like a common cold—sinus pressure, a stuffy nose, mild headaches, and fatigue. He brushed it off as allergies or a minor illness, but things took a sharp turn for the worse that weekend. Michael began experiencing severe headaches, jaw pain, and overwhelming tiredness. By Monday morning, he collapsed into a seizure in his bedroom and was rushed to the hospital.

Doctors quickly diagnosed him with bacterial strep meningitis, a life-threatening infection that likely started from an untreated sinus infection and spread to his brain. What was even more alarming was that after reviewing his brain scans, doctors discovered Michael had already suffered a stroke in his frontal lobe 1-2 months earlier. The strep infection caused multiple strokes that weekend, further damaging his brain and leaving him in critical condition.

Now, Michael is fighting for his life in the ICU, and his family is facing an incredibly uncertain future. His wife and daughter are at his side, doing everything they can to support him, but the emotional and financial burden is overwhelming.

Natalie has been a rock for our community, often listening to our problems while assisting us in navigating the Pennsylvania government agencies to obtain documents, understand legislature, and gain access to vital life-sustaining programs. She has spent summers with our children at the summer camp in Lower Southampton, often acting as mom when kids felt sad, got boo-boos, or just needed some TLC. Natalie has shown her support for our seniors, advocated for local veterans, and participated in community service and organizations to make Lower Southampton a better place to live. This family needs our assistance while they deal with Mike’s life-threatening illness. Our goal is to remove the fear of paying monthly bills, buying groceries, and providing for Sophia. More than ever, it is important we surround them with positive and supportive people and take the financial burden away while they focus on their grief, healing, and health.
