Hello everyone,
My name is Erynne, and I’m reaching out with a heart full of hope and gratitude to support my husband, Jerry, who recently experienced a life-altering motorcycle accident.
Jerry and I have spent 17 years building our life together. He's not only my best friend but a loving father to our three incredible kids: Jacob (13), Alivia (11), and Conner (10). Whether it’s cheering from the sidelines at baseball and volleyball games or strategizing during chess matches, Jerry has always been their number one fan.
After witnessing the impact Hurricanes Helene and Milton had on our community, Jerry made the decision to leave his previous career in the jewelry industry to start his own construction business. Helping others has always been a characteristic I’ve admired about Jerry, and after years of helping families celebrate life’s milestones, he felt that he could contribute more by helping clients rebuild their homes after such devastating natural disasters.
Tragically, our lives changed in an instant just before Easter Sunday. Less than a half mile away from arriving at his destination, Jerry sustained severe head trauma and injuries. He was rushed to the intensive care unit at Bayonet Point Hospital. Everyday, he bravely tackles immense challenges. Due to the brain trauma everyday he wakes up not knowing where he is, how he got there or understanding he is unable to get up and walk. Jerry has sadly suffered several falls and a stroke as well.
—After this initial phase, Jerry will require specialized neurological rehabilitation at Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital in Jacksonville, FL. He will relearn basic tasks we so often take for granted like dressing himself, standing up, walking, and feeding himself. Following inpatient treatment, he’ll need ongoing home healthcare services and extensive outpatient therapy to continue his recovery journey. While Jerry’s determination is unwavering, the financial impact on our family is substantial. Medical expenses, travel and lodging costs, therapy sessions, and lost wages due to extended absence from work have placed an enormous burden on us.
