We are fundraising on behalf of our parents, Nick and Jenny O’Brien.

They’ve lived in Harcourt since 2010 with their three (out of six) children. On Friday, 9 January 2026 their home was completely destroyed by the Harcourt bushfire. Nick fled the property only minutes before with their dogs, leaving everything else behind. Jenny and the children were already at safety. They have lost everything.

They were unable to obtain fire insurance for their 50 year old mud brick home. They have worked tirelessly over their lives to provide care and support to their family, community and countless others, and now they need your help. When they should be looking forward to retirement, they are now being forced to rebuild their lives from scratch. This has come at an already challenging time for the family who are mourning the recent loss of Nick’s father.
