Dear Friends and Family,

My mom, Janeti Pita, is facing major health challenges and needs an operation as soon as possible. She needs to have a craniectomy which is a neruological procedure that involves removing a portion of her skull in order to remove a hematoma - or a swelling of clotted blood- within her brain. She is currently very weak and in major pain. She is being cared for by her daughter-in-law Florence in Kampala, Uganda, close to medical facilities.

My mom means everything to me. She is a single mom with a physical disability but she managed to raise four children during multiple civil wars. In her lifetime she has endured many hardships of civil war in South Sudan which includes living in refugee camps on and off for many years and surviving an assult by rebel fighters.

I cherish my mom and want what is best for her. For my whole life I have been hoping to show her that all her hard work in raising me and my siblings did not go in vain. She didn't work in an office, but instead she woke up early to work in the fields to grow food. Before the end of the day my mom had to collect firewood and fetch water so that she could cook a meal for us. If I can I would do anything for my mom and it has come to a point that I am asking for assistance because the financial cost of the surgery is beyond my means.
