Plastic incinerators for rural Nepal.
Donation protected
Namaste, and hello, my name’s Tom, I’m raising funds to build 20+ plastic incinerators and then distribute them into the Annapurna Conservation Area, in Nepal. With plans for more in the works.
While trekking through the mountains we were horrified by the amount of plastic and rubbish just left on the trails. Picking it up as we went, it soon became obvious there was no real way to deal with the waste. In villages, people would slowly burn the plastic in piles, releasing plumes of toxic smoke. Negatively impacting community health and the environment.
Now while it would be better to not have plastic everywhere, and for it to be recycled. This is not currently possible by a long shot.
Working with what is available and within the realms of possibility, a cheap mobile plastic incinerator is one solution. Alongside education and self empowerment of locals.
The money raised will be used to pay for materials, construction costs and distribution.
Depending on funding, looking at incorporating a hot water system into the design if its feasible. Alongside setting up plastic recycling centres in urban areas.
Any assistance would be awesome!
Thanks in advance!
