Remember the thrill, the excitement, the stunning convoy of rare Supercars, the free family festivals, the mighty roar, the generosity, the electric atmosphere and the mighty roar of Cannonball Ireland? Over the years Cannonball has raised €1,125,000 for various charities and Barnardos were so grateful to be chosen as the official charity for 2020. Alas, the event is now cancelled for 2020.
The decision to cancel the event was absolutely the right thing to do for all involved but leaves a huge void in the charity coffers and another massive fundraising opportunity that will be missed for Barnardos because of Covid19 restrictions.
Unfortunately, 2020 is the year that Barnardos need help more than ever before but fundraising opportunities are so very limited. Children and families, already living in stressful situations, are now experiencing a pressure cooker effect, living with domestic abuse, addiction, parental mental health challenges, poverty, neglect, acrimonious separation, family breakdown – now with very little escape.
All funds raised on this page will go directly to Barnardos and local branches around the country. This will make a huge difference to local communities. Please, please dig deep to help your local Barnardos and the vital work we are doing in this pandemic year.
