Hi everyone, my name is Leo and I am a small content creator and university student from Toronto.
Over the past couple of months i have been experiencing vision loss, visual snow, increase in blurred vision, and lost my drivers license because of this.
Due to these issues I was referred to a neuro-ophthalmologist where the appointment cost me $500 which I could barely afford. However, this appointment was genuinely revolutionary and has given me so many answers as well as solutions to my vision - that is, additional lenses and prisms added to my existing prescription.
However, these new glasses are going to cost me $2000 due to the complexities of my astigmatism, myopia, and the other issues listed earlier. My prescription is -10 which makes getting glasses already expensive, and with the additional prisms and coloured tints, it has greatly increased the cost of new glasses.
I am a university student who is just trying to get by and have no additional help due to being estranged from my family. This huge cost is impacting my financial situation immensely, especially due to the fact that I am leaving to go to school in London, England in January.
My insurance is not covering anything - both my glasses and appointments.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!
