Fight for Ty

My name is Amanda Robson. My son Ty is a well known and loved 22 year old man. When you think of Ty you would think "young, fit, healthy, loving, enthusiastic, smart ass, uncle, brother, son, partner and the life of the party.

Ty fell unexpectedly ill on Tuesday night 28th of September 2021. He was taken to the hospital with chest pains and we honestly didn't think that it was anything serious. Tys health declined quickly and I received a call that no mother should ever have to. My poor babies heart had stopped beating for more than half an hour and the doctors didn't think they were able to revive him. I was in shock and disbelief, he was fine hours ago, how could this be happening? Somehow my brave, strong boy managed to get his heart beat back around 50 minutes of being lifeless. Ty was rushed to Melbourne for further tests and treatment and remains there in recovery. He has made great progress in the short amount of time and all though we can't visit him physically we are able to have virtual visits (teleconference calls).

Doctors doubted Ty's survival and recovery as the lack of blood and oxygen to his brain for the period of time he had been lifeless would generally cause brain damage/death. In the short span of roughly 3 days, Ty is now able to partly breathe on his own, he can speak, he can comprehend what we are saying and he remembers everything so far. He seems to be back to his old self (well almost). We have had so much generosity with some amazing donations! We have even had someone purchase a phone so that Ty can now have regular contact with his family and partner.

This has truely been a rollercoaster of emotions and we couldn't of done it without the support of our friends, family and community.

We thank the Mildura Base Hospital for their patience and for not giving up on my boy and everyone else who has had any sort of involvement in Ty's recovery.

It is still early days so we ask that everyone pray for Ty and keep him in your thoughts. We would appreciate any form of donation to help with Tys medical bills and his recovery such as possible rehabilitation, unemployment whilst recovering etc.
