PD-15 IS UNDER SEIGE! HELP US FIGHT THE CITY & DEVELOPERS!
The City of Dallas is recommending extreme up-zoning within PD-15 on the site of a burned 3-story condominium in a beautiful, established, tree-lined Dallas neighborhood. The City is waiving some long-standing rules to permit developers to build high, dense buildings, unlike the the majority of surrounding properties.
Where once a 3-story condo stood, the City of Dallas could approve (2) 310' high rental apartment buildings! Additionally, up to four more mid-rise buildings could be built behind the tower(s)!
The developers have not been required to conduct traffic studies and infrastructure is already over-taxed. Storm water flooding is already a problem within the PD-15 area. Many 60-70 year old live oak trees will be scrapped!
Condo owners and nearby by homeowners are OPPOSED to this EXTREME ZONING PLAN, the loss of their shady, quiet and walkable neighborhood . 79% of owners within the 200' notification area have voted NO to this plan. Property values are already dipping with the prospect of owners' panoramic views of the neighborhood being obstructed by tall buildings in much closer proximity than the burned condo!
Neighbors have banded together to fight this behemoth of a development! "Citizens Advocating Responsible Development" (CARD). "CARD" needs help raising money to fight the well-funded developers and their army of professionals! We need to print materials and distribute them to surrounding neighborhoods! It costs 20 cents to deliver 1 flyer to a household! We need to print and distribute thousands of flyers AND we have just a few weeks to do this! The Dallas City Council will consider this zoning change on September 11th!
PLEASE, HELP "CARD"! Every dollar donated will help us deliver flyers to 5 neighbors! $35.00 will help us purchase 1/2 of the plastic door "sleeves" we need! Printing and a zoning consultant are desperately needed to enhance our efforts. PLEASE, HELP US SAVE OUR BEAUTIFUL PD-15 NEIGHBORHOOD!!!
