Jordan & Travis Griffis, married March 4, 2006 tried for nearly nine years to conceive a child. Despite doctors claiming that it is all but impossible, surgeries, and even a failed adoption, God granted them the desires of their heart! Amazingly, Brigham Wade Griffis was naturally conceived summer of 2015.
On December 17th, at 24 gestational weeks, Jordan checked into the Southeast Georgia Health System in active labor. With the help of medicine and miracles, the doctors were able to slow her contractions enough to transfer her to Memorial Health in Savannah, GA where doctors anxiously awaited and expected Brig's arrival. With the good Lords help, prayers and medical attention, they were able to stall the birth for one week, allowing mom and baby to receive critical medications for growth and development. Brig made his grand entrance on December, 23 2015 at just 25 weeks and 1 day gestational age. He entered this world awake and alert at 11:35PM weighing only 1lb 13oz and measuring 13.5 inches long!
Continuing to find favor in this seemingly impossible plight, Jordan was able to secure a room across from the NICU at the Ronald McDonald House while Travis commutes to and from Brunswick each weekend.
Since then, in the face of preemie challenges with his lungs, kidneys and overall health, Brig has grown larger and stronger every day! He will remain in the NICU through his normal gestation period that was to supposed to be through March into early April. As you can imagine, Brig is still facing a long stay at Savannah Memorial while his parents face many significant challenges remaining at his side.
The intent of this page is to help alleviate some of the financial stress and burden that comes with an extended hospital stay and medical treatments, along with travel expenses and lost wages. Above all, your love, support, and prayers are what is needed and appreciated most!
Travis and Jordan are, above all else, thankful to God everyday for the miracle of their baby boy. Frequently we hear how they are overwhelmed and humbled by the outpouring of love and support for their tiny miracle. They express their sincere appreciation and gratitude to each of you.
