My big challenge for Mrs B & North Devon Hospice
Hello, many of you may not know me but hopefully you will soon. I
'm Evie, my friends and family think I'm a little crazy the way I find my dopamine fix! And honestly I think this time I am to!
This year I have decided to push my mental and physical abilities to the limit by taking on the 3 peek challenge in 24 hours so for anyone who doesn't know what this is I will start at Ben nevis Scotland at 5am I will then go onto scafell pike in the lake district England and end up at the end of snowdonia Wales at 4:30 am and here is where I may loose all will to live so I thought to give myself motivation I could ask you guys to dig deep and help me raise funds along the way for a local charity that is very close to my heart for many reasons.
These guys have supported my wee granny and two of my biggest fans and mentors throughout my career along with supporting there families in such difficult times, not only that but throughout my career they have offered great support and training free or charge to our care home and others giving us knowledge in holistic and health care.
I'm not gonna lie this challenge petrifies me and excites me all at the same time, but it's only 24 hours and that's nothing compared to what others have to go through for those that need the support of the North Devon Hospice
The main reason that has pushed me to do this challenge is in memory of the best boss lady anyone could have wished to have! Mrs B aka Betty boundy.
I rocked up to her carehome a single mother of two children new to the village struggling to find my way 17 years ago! She soon become my mentor and teacher of life skills,a friend to my family ! my agony aunt I become her prodigy!
Mrs B was the most caring passionate old school matron you would meet, but often I trembled in my shoes when I heard her matron voice bellowing "Eviekins" around the home. Mrs B fought hard from the day she was unwell to the day she became a star in the sky on Sunday 17th September 2023. During this time she enjoyed life in remission but it was made short, a good life taken to soon and I know whilst climbing these mountains when I think of giving up Mrs B will be in my ear "eviekins you can do this"
So in a nutshell I need to raise at least £500 to complete this challenge however £500 would only roughly pay for 2-3 days for the care Mrs B recieved at the end of her life. I want to raise at least enough to pay back 1 week of the care that Betty received from The North Devon Hospice in which they can be payed forward to someone else/ family in need!
Thank you all in advance for any donations made to support myself and North Devon Hospice. I have a whole body of clothing!if you donate at least £10 I will wear your loved ones name with pride during my climb! Just message me a name. The more donations I receive the harder my legs work
Thank you all, lots of love Evie aka Eviekins xxx
