Patrick's College Needs: Let's Come Together

I hit up Rouses in Ponchy every Sunday and a few weeks back I was with my 9 month old son to give momma a break. Unfortunately, for me he was asleep so I had to shop with one buggy and push him and his car seat in another. After I checked out I made my way to the door and realized it was STORMING rain. With no options we were about to get the “wet ass”, but right before we walked out I hear, “where we heading?”. This young man (Patrick) was behind me with an umbrella. It only took a few feet to realize I could only push 2 carts so fast in the rain. Patrick suggested I take the umbrella to cover me and my son, leaving him to get soaked pushing my other cart. I didn’t have cash and asked him if I could Venmo him. He assured me it was not necessary and that he didn’t have Venmo. I told him I would be back. Fast forward 2 weeks and Jamie and I got to give Patrick his well deserved tip. I wish the world had more Patrick’s in it.

After meeting Patrick I learned that he is starting college in just a few weeks where he will major in Architectural Studies at the University of Louisiana Lafayette and will need school supplies and furnishings for his dorm room. I’ve seen people from Louisiana rally after floods, tornadoes and hurricanes. Let’s see if we can rally behind Patrick to start his college journey off right. Ante up.
