Calling all Pals! On the morning of Wednesday, April 12, our van broke down on the side of Highway 129 heading into Santa Cruz, CA. We had suspected transmission issues and managed to get it towed to a transmission mechanic nearby to confirm that it needed to be replaced. The van is a Chevy Express 3500 that was purchased used in October of last year and was well maintained but had a used transmission with an unknown lifespan that replaced the original. We were not expecting it to fail on the first tour using the vehicle.
Given the circumstances of the situation, the start of our tour with Exmortus, and being so far away from our home in Atlanta, GA, we decided to continue on with a rental vehicle as the process of procuring and installing the new transmission will take over a week. Unfortunately, the only thing we could find that could legally tow our trailer is a pickup truck with just enough room to fit the 5 of us, which means we now have to get hotel rooms every night as well. Due to the repair schedule, we also had to cancel the three last shows of the tour and will be facing a grueling 35+ hour drive back to Atlanta.
A crowdfunding campaign is something we’ve never done before, but we need help alleviating the major cost burden of the new transmission, rental truck, hotel rooms, lost profits from canceled shows, and other related expenses. Any amount donated will help tremendously and will cement your status as a certified Pal For Life.
