Our Loss Is Heaven's Gain
Death leaves a heartache no one can heal,
Love leaves a memory no one can steal.
This June, Laurie along with husband, son, daughter, grandson, and father were all diagnosed with Covid-19. Thankfully, Laurie and the children only suffered some of the symptoms for a few days. This was not the case for Laurie's father Fred Adame Sr. and husband Homer Rocha.
Last week, Laurie tragically lost her father Fred Adame Sr, 73 and this week her beloved husband Homer Rocha, 56 to Covid-19. Laurie lost the two loves of her life in a span of only 6 days.
Laurie and Homer lived next door to her parents in Cedar Park, Texas. They took Covid-19 seriously, especially because they were caretakers for her parents. All groceries and meals were delivered. Homer worked at home while coping with a back injury due to a car accident while Laurie continued a year long job search online. Homer only left his house to mow the lawn, a few times to go through the pharmacy drive through or to take his 15 year old son to and from the High School to exercise. Homer never left the car. The entire family wore masks and followed all suggested precautions.
Covid-19 found its way to their family regardless.
Keeping in touch with Laurie (my sister in Christ) these past several weeks has been heartbreaking. I couldn't wrap my mind around the torment of having a father AND husband quarantined then hospitalized for over a month without being able to visit, console, hug or even pray with them. Throughout all of this sorrow, Laurie has continued to be a faith filled wife, daughter, mother, and friend. Laurie's immediate and extended family is such a beautiful model of strength and faith.
In this devastatingly difficult time, my family and I request your support to help ease the burden of the Adame-Rocha family. Your donation will go directly into Laurie's account to help defray the expenses for a mountain of medical and hospital bills, the funeral costs and the many expenses Laurie will have to face as a single mother in the coming months until she can find a job with health coverage.
On behalf of Laurie's entire family, I thank you for your friendship, generosity and most importantly your prayers during this trying time.
