Our beloved Annie is now at rest
Donazione protetta
Ann Armenia Johnson Pichardo was a sister, a mother, a daughter and an amazing friend. She was a force! She had the ability to take control of a situation and work it out. Annie as most of us know and loved her as, had a deep passion for the Lord. She epitomized the phrase “tough love”. If you know her you understood. She is a problem solver. She was a lover of music. She was a lover of dance. She was a lover of food. She was a LOVER… She never met a stranger, she only met a person she was destined to love, or not love. She was so complex, but she filled our lives with her spirit, with her being! She had an infectious laugh and a heart of gold that loved fiercely. Annie made a lasting impact on all of us. She empowered, defended, and always kept it REAL…she believed in her version of loyalty and lived her life embodying her truth. We are blessed and forever changed for having known her, for having lived through the joys and challenges of life with her, and for enjoying the time that we were given with her. Her big belly laugh will forever be remembered.
Annie attended the University of Florida where she experienced sisterly love and academia at its finest. She became a member of Zeta Phi Beta in Spring 1996 when she crossed as #5 on the “Rebirth of a Zeta Nation” line. She held many positions, but most notably, Step Master, where she leaned into her creativity to thrive on stage. She loved her Blue and White family and remembered her brothers from Phi Beta Sigma fondly.
Annie was a Jersey girl through and through. She loved the diners, she loved the beach and she loved her Jersey family! She left a trail of glitter wherever she lived, wherever she loved. She is currently in paradise with her father Carney Johnson whom she loved dearly. Robert, who she married, stood by her side until her last breath. They created two strong, resilient daughters. Adia Maureena and Anaya Rita are strong, wise, intelligent and incredibly beautiful women. Let’s all gather and surround her beautiful children with love and support as they process the transition of our beloved Annie. We ask for prayers for comfort for the family as they navigate this challenging time.
The funds collected here will go directly into an account set up to cover costs of Annie’s passing and to benefit her daughters.
Memorial: This has been a tragic loss for the family and they need time to heal. They have decided to proceed with the cremation of their mother, and our beloved Annie. They have chosen to keep her remains momentarily and celebrate her life at a later date. But they do invite us to share a memory, or many, in the comments section below. Annie was a jewel of a woman and we will miss her deeply.
