OSA STUDIO FUNDRAISER: For Our Children

Talofa Lava and warm Pacific greetings. My name is Faleulu Ane and I am the Director of Oriana Siva Academy (Oriana).

As a Samoan, born and raised outside of Samoa, oftentimes we can feel disconnected to our roots, our culture. Many young Pacific people here in our very own neighbourhood are also feeling increasingly disconnected from their languages and cultures.

To respond to this, we established Oriana Siva Academy in March 2020 to provide a space for young Samoans to connect and to learn more about who they are as Samoans, through song and dance.

Oriana is dedicated to educating our students in a culturally immersive environment. We use the Samoan language, song and dance, to educate and empower them to fulfil their potential as ambassadors of their Samoan heritage. For the past four years, this has been our mission. But it has not been easy.

As a parent, it is our duty to provide our children with a home. And for the past four years, Oriana’s home has been spiritual. Wherever we were together, that was home. But by the grace of God, we have been blessed with a physical place now to call our own. We have a studio.

Our house is not yet a home though. And we need your help!

In order for our home to be a safe environment for our children, we need an additional restroom, appropriate flooring, central cooling & heating, mirrors, chairs, and more.

It is for this reason that we are seeking assistance from you, our community, both near and far.

Help us to build a home, where our young people, our Samoan language and culture, will thrive.
