Orson Boswell

“Orson Boswell, my wonderful young cousin, didn’t wake up on Wednesday, 15th November 2023.
Celeste, his heartbroken mother shared the news with us, her family, that her beautiful son, Orson had passed in the night.

Orson’s sudden and unexpected death has sent our family into total shock. Orson was a strong, fit and healthy young man. We are still waiting to find out as to why he was so unexpectedly taken from us.

Orson was the perfect example of what you’d hope for in a son, a grandson, a brother, a cousin & a nephew and he was a great friend to many. He was dearly loved by his mum, his dad, his sister, his brother, his grandparents, his aunties, his uncles and his cousins. We all loved him and are devastated at losing him so young. He’d only just celebrated his 18th birthday in September and had his whole life ahead of him.
As his mum said, “Orson, you really were the best of us”.

If you were lucky enough to have known Orson, then you will no doubt understand the pain and the heart ache of his loss as well. It’s a pain like no other and one that has left a huge void in our family.

Orson was just on the cusp of starting his life as a young adult, changing from the beautiful, kind-hearted, happy boy that he was into an amazing young man who had just begun to explore what life had to offer.
Orson had found his extended family at Jurassic Muscle & Fitness on Portland. He had a love for fitness & health and had recently embarked on a journey into the world of power lifting. He was about to compete in his first power lifting competition and knowing Orson, he would have given it everything. He was meticulous and dedicated in his training as he was with everything in life and according to his trainers, had a lot of potential. From speaking with those at the club I know this news has come as a massive shock to them too. He was very much loved and known there as a young man who loved supporting and helping others.
We know that no life lost early or unexpectedly is easy to bear, but Orson truly was a star that shone bright, and we know that his unexpected death will leave not only our family feeling terribly lost but many others that Orson touched beyond our family. Orson was known for his positive attitude to life & for his kindness towards others. He was intelligent, curious, driven, compassionate & considerate and adored by all that were lucky enough to have met him. As many will attest, Orson always found the time to help his family and friends.
Orson is survived by his loving parents Celeste and Tom, sister Lola and his ray of sunshine, little brother, Dexter.

Orson did anything to help others and I want to make sure I do the best for him at this very sad moment in time. I want to make sure he is remembered in the right way and that his funeral and send off is one that is befitting of him and his short but impactful life.

Which leads me to asking for your help in achieving only the very best for Orson and his immediate family in this devastatingly sad time for them.

No mother or father expects to be organising a funeral for their child & unfortunately it’s expensive. We need help to raise money to help Celeste and Tom organise and pay for a funeral and send off that will do their son proud. We need help to ensure that they can mark his resting place with a headstone that will record his short life on this earthly plane and how much he was loved.

There’s never ever an amount of money that can compensate for a life lost, especially one so special as Orson’s. But there is a cost to healing and recovery. Especially for the ones left behind with an aching void left by Orson not being here anymore.

I’m hoping with this GoFundMe, we can help his immediate family cover not only the funeral costs and memorial stone but enough funds to buy them time they will surely need to come to terms with and to grieve this devastating loss of their son. I want them to benefit from getting professional help to navigate this massive loss and enable them to help heal as a family.

If we beat the target, which would be amazing, I would also love for us to be able to create a lasting legacy in Orson’s name; a legacy that reflects the positive impact his life has had on people he has known (both family and friends) - Something we can all remember him by and that will help others. (I know Orson would be so happy that a legacy set up in his name would be helping others as he did in life). I am not sure what this would look like but maybe a charity once we know what he died from or maybe a scheme to help young adults who can’t afford certain sport memberships or gym memberships, as we know Orson was so passionate about health and fitness and the positive effects it can have.

If you’re reading this and are able to help, thank you so much. I know that times are truly tough for many right now.

We love you Orson. We will never forget you and you will always be in our hearts.
