Oregon Ambassadors of Music - Europe Experience 

Hello, my name is Harvey Graham, I am 15 years old and I am one of the few students at Mountain View High School that has been nominated and selected for the incredible opportunity to go to Europe and perform in a choir with other individuals who have been selected by the Oregon Ambassadors of Music (OAM). OAM has been traveling with student music groups to Europe since 1995. Their mission is to share their love of life and peace through music making. We will travel this coming summer of 2024 to various countries like Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, and Czech Republic. In each location we will be performing in opera houses, concert halls and other venues while there.

My journey and love for choir has been alive since I was very little. I learned a lot of songs and nursery rhymes in many different languages such as French, Latin, Italian, Spanish and more from my grandmother who had done choir for many years. My mother was always very supportive, and did everything she could at the time to keep me motivated when it came to singing. We did not have the resources, time, or money to get me into a choir class when I was younger, so when I had the chance to join choir in high school I embraced the opportunity.

My freshman year of choir, I was chosen to be choir representative for the freshman group and was able to create an amazing bond with every person that participated. I really have a true passion for choir and singing and this once in a lifetime opportunity could help me further my education in music. I am a hard worker, responsible, and continuously looking for opportunities to expand my experiences that could benefit me for the future.

The cost for the Europe trip also includes a four day camp that is mandatory in order to learn the many songs that we will be performing, and to be able to create a bond with the people that I will be working with for close to a month. For businesses that are willing to contribute your will find in the OAM website that there is a form for tax write offs. If you decide to help me with this amazing trip you would not only be getting me closer to Europe, but closer to helping me achieve one of my greatest passions and dreams.
