One Row Live It - Giorgia & Louis

We are brother and sister, Louis (26) & Giorgia (29) Webb from South Yorkshire, and in 2026 we will be rowing in the Worlds Toughest Row in 2026 with the aim to raise money for our chosen charities.

What is the World’s Toughest Row?

 

This is an annual event organised by ‘Atlantic Campaigns’ where competitors row 3000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean, in a race from La Gomera in the Canaries to Antigua in the Caribbean! 

 

You can enter as solo rower or a team of up to 5 rowers. We are entered together in the Pairs Race. Prior to the race the rowers spend 2-3 years preparing. During this time the teams not only have to undertake demanding physical training, along with the kind donations from people like you, we will also be trying to find sponsorships from businesses which will pay for all of our equipment and food. A total cost of around £100,000!

Once our challenge is completed, we will sell all of the equipment used and ALL the money raised from this will be donated to our two chosen charities.

 

You might still be wondering why anyone in their right mind would voluntarily put themselves through something so physically and mentally challenging. We both had very adventurous childhoods, which has followed us into adulthood. You only live once, so live to the full and try everything! Hence why we chose our team’s name: “One Row, Live It.” The flame of adventure was kindled when we made the decision to attempt such a challenge, and the best part is that we can help raise vital funds for charity whilst undertaking this epic journey. Since the start of the Atlantic Race in 1997, over €19 million has been raised for charities around the World, and that number is still rising!

 

Our chosen charities are the Royal National Lifeboat Institution and Alzheimer’s Research UK

 

We have chosen the RNLI because it’s impossible to not end up by the coast when you’re living in the United Kingdom of Great Britain or in the Republic of Ireland. The RNLI is a charity which anyone may need to use at some point (though hopefully never!) they rely completely on donations from the public to help provide their amazing selfless crews with vital equipment. We chose the RNLI because no matter your age, sex, race, religion, nationality or even species (our beloved pets) this wonderful charity will always answer your call for help, and it is imperative to support those who have saved over 144,000 lives since 1824! An average of 2 lives saved every day for 200 years!

 

We believe in living your life to the very best, to venture on those adventures, take those chances and most importantly, make those treasured memories along the way. Alzheimer’s Disease affects around 6 in every 10 people with dementia in the UK, a huge percentage! And this disease can affect anyone of any age. It must be terrible, to live such an amazing life, only to forget it. And loved ones can only watch as this horrid disease takes over. This is why we have chosen Alzheimer’s Research UK; they are a charity with one goal: to find a cure for Alzheimer’s Disease. They are currently researching a new drug which can help dramatically slow down the symptoms of Alzheimer’s Disease and is currently in the trial stages. Inspiring!

 

Though we’re still a long way away from the start line in December 2026, between now and then we have the monumental challenge of acquiring and preparing everything! Your donation will help us raise the money for us to acquire all of the necessary equipment which will allow us to take on this huge challenging of rowing across the ATLANTIC Ocean to help raise money for the Royal Nation Lifeboat Institution and Alzheimer’s Research UK. ALL the euipment will be sold after our crossing and the money raised from this will be donated to our two charities!
