Like so many in the Bay Area, my dear friend, and amazing artist, Octavia Veedere, lives hand to mouth. Besides selling the exquisite jewelry she designs, Octavia has a day job that requires moving around and driving. She works her butt off for long hours, and has been self-sufficient up to now.
We found out that Octavia has a large fibroids in her uterus that have been creating a great deal of pain and swelling. Today the doctor told her that her only option is to have major surgery to remove most of her uterus, which will require a long recovery. She will be unable to work for at least a month, and probably longer. She does not have the savings to pay additional medical costs on top of MediCal, and to support herself during this time. Octavia urgently needs our help.
With the financial help of the large community that Octavia has fostered over these many years in the Bay Area, Octavia can fully recover and thrive again. She will need funds for excess medical bills, rent, food, bills, etc for 6 weeks of recovery time. She may also need friends to visit and drop off meals for the first week or two.
As most of you know, Octavia is multi-talented (professional home organizing, astrology, tarot reading, jewelry design). She would like to offer gifts for those who provide sizable donations to her fund.
