It is with great sadness that I share the passing of Linda Patterson. She had a 5 year battle with Multiple Myeloma. She faced complications in the last 4 months leading to multiple hospital admissions and a recent ICU stay prior to entering hospice. Her family said goodbye on her 64th birthday and are facing the financial burden of her extensive medical care.

Linda was a native "South Sider" and mother of 3. She was a small business owner of a hair salon named Style No Limit and loved making others feel beautiful and giving them a listening ear in the salon chair.

Linda was an integral part of the University of Chicago Laboratory School community. She joined Lab as a Community Service Officer in 2017 and was devoted to keeping the Lab Community safe. She was the face that greeted all who entered Blaine Hall on their arrival to school every day. Among her colleagues, Linda was more than just a security officer; she was a trusted friend, mentor, and role model. A little known fact is that she was behind the creative decorations on the large bulletin board that changed with the seasons and celebrated each student's birthday in the Lower School.

As we face the loss of a mother, grandmother and friend, we are seeking donations to support Linda's family with medical costs and memorial service.
