'Nonexistent' Short Film

Hello, my name is Hunter Leech, I’m a 23 year old filmmaker from Forster, NSW. One year ago, thanks to the generosity of people who donated on this website, I was able to write and direct my very first short film. A film which has gone on to be selected in film festivals in India, Pakistan, Romania, Sweden, Germany, Malaysia, Greece, Italy and the USA. I followed this up with a second short film using the skills I’d learned from the first. Attached are some BTS photos and still shots from the two films I made in 2024.

I am now setting out to make my third short film as a writer-director, the final film in a trilogy that began one year ago. This film is called ‘Nonexistent’ and is an experimental project with no dialogue whatsoever and will be shot by three different cinematographers.

It is the most experimental project I’ve attempted by far but I believe the most interesting. I am taking inspiration from the films of David Lynch, Lars von Trier and Charlotte Wells. The film follows a young woman named Dominique who is attempting to process her grief through a series of memories, nightmares and fantasies. I don’t really want to spoil much else.

I am asking for donations of any size to help assist the production process. Your donation will go to the costs of locations, props, food, transport and every other little expense that pops up when making a movie.

I know times are tough so any amount is appreciated even if it is as little as $5 but I am prepared to offer some incentives and rewards for larger donations:

A $30 donation gets your name listed in the credits.

A $50 donation gets you an early access link to the finished film (+ name in the credits)

If we exceed our donation goal, any remaining funds will either be diverted to my next films budget or used to submit this film to festivals.
