Bermuda Advocates for Responsible Development (BARD) is a group of concerned citizens who oppose the MATOACA MEGA SITE, a proposed 1700 Acre Industrial Site that Chesterfield County, VA plans to locate in a largely residential and Agricultural area.
The County proposal also includes building a major highway and railroad line through residential neighborhoods, destroying a historical home, an elementary school, and a County park, all for a non-existent Industrial user. There are also environmental wetlands concerns.
We believe that destroying our community, increasing traffic on existing roads, and spending millions of taxpayer dollars on pure speculation is irresponsible and we are committed to fighting this rezoning. All County residents will benefit from ending this pipedream.
Funds are needed NOW for signs, flyers, meeting space rental, insurance, and to pursue all legal and ethical routes to end this County plan. We hope you will give what you can to realize our goal of STOPPING the "MATOACA MEGA GAMBLE".
