Thank you for visiting Nolan's Mercy Fund! We are the Dombrowski Family, writing to you, asking to open your hearts to Alex, Megan, and Nolan's story today.
Alex and Megan first discovered their sweet baby would have some health concerns at the first ultrasound appointment. For the second half of their pregnancy they visited with many specialists, and monitored his health very closely. It was discovered that Nolan had fluid accumulating around his brain, a condition called hydrocephalus. Our family has been praying for this baby boy and his mom and dad all along the way, just knowing God has a great plan for him. Nolan came into this world on November 23, 2015, about 4 weeks premature. He was immediately taken to the NICU at Childrens Mercy Hospital, and has been in great care ever since. In addition to hydrocephalus, Nolan was also diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension, which was unexpected. Nurses, doctors, and especially mom and dad have been by his side taking the best possible care of Nolan. He is such a strong fighter and continues to make small leaps each day. He was able to undergo surgery as of 12/7 to place a shunt to help drain the extra fluid, and is currently recovering. The next goal is to help Nolan breath on his own without the help of a ventilator. Alex and Megan are with him constantly, loving on him, praying for him, and fighting for him. Nolan is truly a gift sent from God, and a joy to all who know him. He loves bath time, talking baseball with dad, and skin to skin cuddle time with mom and dad. We ask you today to first, please pray for this sweet family, and second, if you are able donate to help them continue the best care possible for him. ANY amount will help them as they encounter medical bills, unexpected expenses, extra time off work, meals on the go, etc. God bless!!
