Helping Niki fight Cervical Cancer
Our niece Candice (Niki) Adams was recently diagnosed with cervical cancer. The tumor is too large to do surgery, so she will be going through an intense treatment program which includes chemotherapy for 5-7 weeks, external radiation for 5-6 weeks, and internal radiation called Brachytherapy for 2 weeks, as well as immunotherapy treatments. The external radiation treatments are every day, Monday through Friday, and the copays alone equal to $175 per week (totaling $700 per month) just for that. That isn't including the portion of the medical bills that insurance doesn't cover, which will include the treatments themselves, IV fluids, labwork, MRIs, PET scans, the body mold, several biopsies, medication, and other miscellaneous fees. Niki's husband Kris is working 6 days a week to cover as much as possible on their own, but with 4 kids and normal everyday living costs, the medical bills are adding up fast and any extra help is appreciated, especially since in Janurary, the year starts over and the whole deductible will be due again.
She uses a website called CaringBridge keep friends & family updated on the process, so feel free to look at Niki's CaringBridge Blog and follow it.
Thank you all,
