Please think about making a donation
Hi, my name is Jan Dyer I raise funds for humanitarian and animal aid in Ukraine and over the past four years I have been travelling overland to Ukraine to deliver donated humanitarian and animal food in various areas of Ukraine and visited a number of pop up animal shelters that try to help and take in many of the abandoned, injured and starving animals that have been forced into living on the streets due to the war, their owners killed or have fled to safety leaving them behind.
I strive to support animal shelters in the Odesa region mainly, most of the shelter owners also go out onto the streets to feed the abandoned stray dogs and cats that can be seen every day looking for food.
Funds are always needed to help try and provide as much food as possible to feed as many animals as possible living in the shelters and on the streets. This winter is particularly harsh with night time temperatures sometimes reaching -19° in parts of Ukraine.
Added into this I also, along with Holy Trinity Church in Bembridge on the Isle of Wight, support 37 elderly residents in Kherson by delivery or sending funds to them, some of these people live lonely isolated lives and are frail/disabled. Kherson is on the front line and as a result is constantly being targetted by the Russian army using drones/missiles and carrying out infantry assaults.
The situation in Ukraine has worsened over the past few months and is set to become even more desperate as winter temperatures have fallen with snow and ice covering the country.
Electricity supplies are badly affected with many days of people living with no lighting or heating.
The current situation in Kherson is desperate with Russian artillery sited less than a mile across the Dnipro river. Every day and night the city is bombarded by artillery, drones and air bombs.
Many of the elderly people living there cannot leave their homes to seek a safe haven as they are too frail. With no family left to help them many depend on charity volunteers to help with delivery of food and basic living essentials.
With many of the big Aid Charities no longer working in Ukraine after switching to other parts of the world affected by war help for the people in Kherson and indeed all over Ukraine is becoming much harder to find.
Please open your hearts and donate if you can to help us with our continued support for the innocent victims of Russia's war in Ukraine.
Every penny goes to where it is needed most, we pay for all of our travel, accommodation and living costs ourselves from our own bank accounts thus ensuring the funds donated only go to helping those in Ukraine.
Thank you.
